{"id":758,"date":"2011-10-16T03:25:58","date_gmt":"2011-10-16T03:25:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/billythekidonline.com\/site\/?p=758"},"modified":"2011-10-16T03:25:58","modified_gmt":"2011-10-16T03:25:58","slug":"what-is-up-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/billypettinger.com\/billythekid\/2011\/10\/16\/what-is-up-2\/","title":{"rendered":"what. is. up."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was listening to the Lemonheads and it occurred to me to do some snooping and see what Evan Dando was up to these days.<\/p>\n<p>I found this <a href=\"http:\/\/nymag.com\/news\/intelligencer\/encounter\/68806\/\">interview<\/a> that ends with him referencing a photo of his wife and saying &#8220;That&#8217;s my wife. She&#8217;s gone.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It struck me as really sad. <\/p>\n<p>So I decided to write a song about it from his perspective.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know if he is overly sad about it or if I did anything justice but I will tell you this&#8230;I really enjoyed researching for the project! I felt like some kind of sleuth or amateur detective.<\/p>\n<p>I am pretty sure he is not going to like the song.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/billythekidonline.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_7066.jpg\" class=\"pretty_image\" data-rel=\"prettyPhoto[758]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/billythekidonline.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_7066-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"that&#039;s my wife. she&#039;s gone.\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-759\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Today was weird because I actually finished two whole songs by 7:30pm. The primary reason for this is that I woke up at 5am with an idea in my brain. I always tell myself &#8220;Oh you will remember this for suuure&#8221; but I have learned that if I don&#8217;t run with it and just get it done&#8230;well, it doesn&#8217;t write itself. So I crawled downstairs, got a guitar, and went back up to bed. My 7am it was finished.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/billythekidonline.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_7064.jpg\" class=\"pretty_image\" data-rel=\"prettyPhoto[758]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/billythekidonline.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_7064-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"5am-7am today\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-760\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Joe and I have been working on stuff while he is in Australia.
